 зателей, які ми розглядали раніше. Крім високої якості запису ЕЕГ, тут ще потрібно усереднювати обчислювальний пристрій. Середня величина може обчислюватися по ходу експерименту або ж після його закінчення, по магнітного запису ЕЕГ і моментів пред'явлення стимулів.

Зазвичай подразник дається 20-100 разів. На записі ЕЕГ повинні бути відмітки точного моменту включення кожного подразника (усредняется односекундний інтервал після всіх таких моментів).

Реєстрація негативного відхилення повільногопотенціалу

Оскільки це відносно невеликий і повільно змінюється потенціал, для його реєстрації важливо застосовувати стабільні електроди. Навіть слабка поляризація електродів може бути помилково прийнята за потенціали коркового походження. Тому стандартна процедура вимірювання опору між електродами за допомогою омметра тут непридатна. Так як омметр подає на електроди короткочасний постійний потенціал, при цьому легко може виникнути небажаний побічний ефект у вигляді різниці потенціалів між ними. У цих випадках для перевірки щільності контакту слід використовувати прилад для вимірювання імпедансу. Очевидно, що тут потрібен попередній постійного струму або передпідсилювач з дуже великою постійною часу (щонайменше в кілька секунд).

У неконтрольованих умовах більшість людей має тенденцію в момент натискання кнопки дивитися вниз (навіть при закритих очах). В області вертекса в цей час можуть реєструватися відносно великі зміни рогівки-сетчаточного потенціалу. Таким чином, руху очей легко можуть давати артефакт, що накладаються на повільні коркові потенціали. Існує ряд електронних систем для одночасного запису електроокулограмми і автоматичного віднімання величини рогівки-сетчаточного потенціалу. Однак значно простіше, а може бути і надійніше, просити випробуваного фіксувати погляд на будь-якій точці і виключати з обробки ті випадки, коли з'являються помітні руху очей.

Ясно, що при реєстрації негативного відхилення повільного потенціалу теж потрібен електронний усреднітель. Зазвичай буває досить приблизно 12 стимулів, і для цієї мети можна пристосувати пристрій для реєстрації усереднених викликаних потенціалів. Хільярд (Hillyard, 1974) дає хороший огляд цих та інших методичних проблем.
